Tensioner and idler pulleys are an increasingly critical component in the modern automotive vehicle. They are not a power transmission component, but rather, provide ‘tension control’ and additional ‘belt wrap’ in combination with cooling, air conditioning, alternator, and toothed timing belts.
Tensioners are more than a ball bearing. They typically operate at high temperatures (max.130ºc), high speed (max. 12,000rpm) and variable load (0-130kgf).
GBC stock an increasing range of quality products from Korean and Australian manufacturers in plastic, steel and cast iron housing, some including brackets. All feature characteristics that ensure application integrity, and long life.
