Circlips
A circlip is made from flat spring steel. Clips are used to prevent axial movement of components fitted on a shaft or in a housing. External circlip are used on a shaft and internal are used in housing bores. The shaft or housing bore has a groove in which the clip is seated. All circlips are specified in size by the diameter of the shaft or the housing bore, NOT by the diameter of the groove machined in them to retain the clip.
